Implementation Reports

advancing science-based digital health implementation

By systematically documenting experiences, we gain a deeper understanding of the real-world impact of technologies, including their effectiveness, obstacles faced during implementation, strategies to overcome them, and unintended consequences.

Published in JMIR Medical Informatics (PubMed and Medline indexed), these reports adhere to the iCHECK-DH guidelines and checklist, developed by a global panel of experts and coordinated by gdhub.

Objective: Build a collection of implementation reports enabling meta-analysis and the development of best practices.

Implementation Reports include:

  • Case Studies: Insights from successful digital health implementations that improve patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluations: Assessments of scalability and sustainability of technological solutions.
  • Recommendations: Actionable insights to enhance digital health adoption and outcomes.

iCHECK-DH Guideline

Guidelines for reporting on digital health implementations are important to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of reported information. This allows for meaningful comparison and evaluation of results, transparency, and accountability and informs stakeholder decision-making. i-CHECK-DH facilitates standardization of the way information is collected and reported, improving systematic documentation and knowledge transfer that can lead to the development of more effective digital health interventions and better health outcomes.

Published Implementation Reports

Implementation reports published in JMIR Medical Informatics (PubMed and Medline indexed) follow the iCHECK-DH guidelines to ensure transparency, consistency and reliability. These reports provide valuable insights into the outcomes and challenges of digital health implementations. Explore the published reports to gain access to real-world data and case studies that can inform future digital health strategies.

Theme Issue: Industry-Driven Innovation

The gdhub and JMIR Medical Informatics are inviting submissions for a special issue on industry-led implementation reports in digital health. This collection will showcase real-world innovations that improve patient care and operational efficiency, highlight best practices, and address challenges such as usability, interoperability, and scalability. By documenting these efforts, the issue aims to foster knowledge sharing among healthcare providers, industry leaders and policymakers, and provide actionable insights to inform future strategies. Contributions co-authored by industry and academic partners are particularly encouraged.
